After reading though my articles for my local newspaper, I felt I could add some humour and more exctiement to them. Here are the before and after articles for my second page:
winner, will be visting the town hall next month to sing for the patients of Mount Vernon hospital and speak to the patients individually. The hospital was extatic to here the news of the star coming as it was a complete suprise. James chose the Mount Vernon hospital in paticular to visit, as he discovered how involved the hospital are in helping patients with
Parkinsons disease, which is something he finds very close to his heart. Read Page7 to find out more.
rumours of a new nightclub - The council are debating whether to open a new night club in town where the old club Gate Grasher used to be. They feel they need to bring something more
alternative and different from the other clubs in the area. Read Page 14 to read more.
help needed for the carnival - The Harrow Youth League are in desperate need of volunteers for the
Carnival coming up this Summer. They are looking for young people from the age of 15-20 to help bring some ideas to the table about what they can have at the
carnival. Food? Entertainment? Music? It’s all down to the HA 6 locals what they want!
new chinese buffet - A new chinese restraunt and buffet, “Tao Peking” has been opened on the
corner of Eastcote highstreet, Leighton Avenue. Their special meal of the all you can eat buffet for only £5 allready seems to be popular with teenagers. Read P. 20 for a review.

X-Factor winner James Arthur is to visit Mt. Vernon Hospital
next month. He will be performing his latest single as well as meeting patients
in the Parkinson ward. The hospital was ecstatic to hear the news of the star
coming as it came as a complete surprise. James has a strong interest in
Parkinson disease and had heard of the great work that Mt. Vernon had been
doing. ‘To find a hospital with such dedication to this awful disease is
inspiring’ the crooner said.
Rumours that a new nightclub, Reflex, is applying for a
licence from the council have been confirmed. The license is expected to be
granted in the next couple of weeks. Enthusiastic Owners Zerminay Shah and
Robbie Judkins said “its bangra meets metal, its hip hop meets dub step. We
want to offer everything!’ Located in the newly developed ‘carb strip’ Reflex
is to have a complete make over if licensing is granted. ‘We want a place that
young people can call their own’ says owners Shah and Judkins. Find out what

Harrow youth has announced its new annual carnival after
fighting the council for some time since the awful events of 2008 when the
annual shindig was stopped. Team Captain Gabriel Tomatoes is looking for
volunteers that can help out from the 25th to th 28th.
‘We need as many volunteers as possible so that we can create the same
atmosphere as the Olympics. That’s my goal’ said the emphatic organiser. See

A new Chinese restaurant and buffet Tao Peking has been
opened on the corner of Eastcote high street on Leighton Avenue. Its offering
of Sichuan as well as Indo-Chinese
fare (curries to you an me) is sure to appeal to the cosmopolitan Eastcote
dweller. Their lunchtime all you can eat special is only £5 and already seems
to be pulling in the hungry harrovians. Read P.

I think my articles which I have re-written will appeal much more to a young audience than my previous ones
