Researching Posters

From researching newspaper posters, I have found most of them are quite simple and boring. I wish to create  my local newspaper poster to be much more eye catching than the typical newspaper posters.

As my task is too create a billboard poster to advertise my newspaper. I have began researching billboard posters and found that the ones that seemed to stand out the most where the ones which were quite brief, using large bold text of a question or simply saying what the product there trying to promote is, and a image on the side.

All these advertisements are striking and give a clear message of what the product that is being advertised is. They all have a large main image against a simple white background which I find is very eye catching. As my task is to create a billboard poster, I believe it is important to give a clear and simple, yet eye catching poster, so viewers will instantly get the message the poster is trying to give. I believe this idea is a good strategy when creating my poster.
